Rough english translation: When the season of the Vergissmeinnichts flower comes
I'll sing a song.


This is my assignment for Illustration class. The task is to draw an illustration based on a fragment of lyric of a song. The song is βιοζ-δ (Bios Delta)² from Guilty Crown. (I don't care what you say about this anime story suckiness, but I LOVE the music --especially the scores and the openings-- and the artworks) Music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and sung by Mika Kobayashi (You both rocks!). Also, you must find an artist you like, and copy his/her style on this artwork.
The bold text is the lyric I used. I find out that the styles of Kohi Kizoku is amazing. I tried to copy Kizoku's styles on drawing girls, but meh.. it's not even close , And I also combine that with Clannad's washed-out gloomy atmosphere styles.

Well my analysis on the lyrics is..

Vergissmeinnichts (or 'forget-me-not' flower in english, but I didn't like how it sounds) is a flower only blooms on summer. So I create a winter atmosphere since its so gloomy and far from summer. And the girl hair accessory is a Vergissmeinnichts.
Vergissmeinnichts is a symbol of friendship or a loving remembrance (since it's translated as forget-me-not, duh). So I draw her in a depressing state. She miss someone important to her. And since Vergissmeinnichts' myth is about a promise, I draw her staring at her glowing phone. That means, there's still hope for her to meet the missing person, even it's so faint.
And why phone? Because the 'sing a song' from the lyric is a form of human communication, and so do phone.

..something like that..

Three days, starting Monday sacrificing sleeps while working on this. This was supposed to be handed today, but well.. the teacher changed his mind and we may hand this on next week. Well, thats sucks.

I create the background using Google SketchUp. Well, first time using this software, it's neat and I liked how it turns out!

This isn't the final version, actually. Some detail's still missing. Well, I might be update this soon, since I got an extra weeks to finish this~
EDIT 11.12.12: Finalized this. Books detailed. Sadden girl's facial expressions. Minor changes on background objects. Changed the skirt, and hands. Also, no visible pants for you, ~blastjuggler . Btw, thanks for all the critique and feedback~
